Industrial Visit
Somila International School, Gangapur arranged an industrial visit to ‘Bhilwara Saras Dairy’for the students of class 8th to 12th on May 6,2023 with an aim to understand and instill the sense of awareness about the manufacturing and processing of dairy based products. Students were acquainted with the largest cooperative unit in Bhilwara that has huge land and a well equipped group that manages door to door collection of milk from rural areas which in turn supports small and marginal farmers. It has a Dairy plant handling capacity 2.5 lakh ltrs. per day with the facilities to pack milk, ghee etc., Its main products are Ghee, Liquid Milk Srikhand, Paneer, Chhach. On exploring the unit the students learnt about the various processing stages involved-starting from collection to final packaging and cold storage of the products.Students were surprised to know that the name of the yellow colour of butter wasn’t white, yellow or cream but ‘ANNATTO’ . Students got a first hand view of the huge silos for storing milk after collection,the packaging unit and the systematic distribution areas. The visit was highly inspiring and the students learnt industry specific working which equipped the students with technical and soft skills essential for a successful career.
